The North San Pablo Bay regions of Sonoma, Marin and Napa Counties face long-term challenges in providing reliable water supplies. Surface and groundwater sources are limited, and some groundwater basins are over pumped.

Wastewater treatment agencies also face strict regulatory limits on the discharge of treated wastewater into San Pablo Bay, rivers and streams.
pipesA clean reliable water supply is also needed to continue the restoration of tidal wetlands in San Pablo Bay.

To help resolve these issues, five local agencies are working together as the North Bay Water Reuse Authority to put recycled water to its broadest and most beneficial use.

landscapesRecycled Water Is:

A sustainable, reliable source of supply—even in drought.

It has a lower carbon footprint than potable supplies and costs less than most potable supplies.

Recycled water meets strict quality standards for urban irrigation and agricultural as well as wetlands restoration.
