The proposed projects provide smart and sustainable use of local resources and represents responsible resource stewardship with numerous benefits, summarized below:

  • Reliable irrigation water supply for irrigation of parks, golf courses, public landscaping, and vineyards;
  • Increased water supply for environmental restoration of wetland habitat and improved stream flows for riparian habitat and fisheries recovery;
  • Reduced demand on limited local surface and groundwater supplies;
  • Less discharge of treated wastewater into the Bay and rivers; and
  • Increased access to federal and state grant funds through regional cooperation.
